As the city of Nashville balloons in population, capturing the cynical, artistic, old soul that lies in the heart of the city was my top priority. I refined my workflow for poster illustration, working out the pencils traditionally and oversized, which gave me a unified sense of scale and tight control over the line quality before I went in with the inks. I’m proud that my illustration was selected as the official poster for the 2023 festival, becoming the first in event history to sell out.
