For a project as broad as a self promo poster, filtering my identity into one strong statement challenged my editing and copywriting skills. Showing who you are as a person and an artist in one image is especially challenging during a time as transitory as college. Taking inspiration from 80s illustrated horror movie VHS covers, I wanted a bold, in-your-face, and detailed illustration. Using a variable font, I filled in the poster with a sky of bold type, shouting my brand identity and place in my career in a cohesive way. I played with hierarchy as well, introducing important information at the top of the piece, as more supplemental details recede into the dark background.
